(BIVN) – A shark sighting closed a popular Kona beach on Wednesday.
“The Department of Land and Natural Resources reports Magic Sands Beach in Kona is closed due to a confirmed shark sighting,” Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense said in a 4 p.m. message. “The beach will remain closed until an assessment is conducted in the morning.”
Civil Defense says beachgoers should follow all instruction from Ocean Safety personnel.
“You will be informed of changes that may affect your safety,” officials said.
