(BIVN) – There is no tsunami threat to Hawaiʻi following the Magnitude 6.4 earthquake off Japan early Tuesday morning.
According to the Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense:
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) reports an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 has occurred at approximately 3:44 am HST in the vicinity of the West Coast of Honshu Japan.
PTWC confirms there is NO TSUNAMI THREAT to the Island and State of Hawaii. I say again, there is NO TSUNAMI THREAT TO THE Island and State of Hawaii.
The measured magnitude of the earthquake was later revised to a M 6.4.
