(BIVN) – The second of two retired police officers recently indicted by a grand jury in connection with stolen drug evidence first reported in 2018, has turned himself in to police.
At 4:50 a.m. on Wednesday, police say 55-year-old former officer Brian Miller of Hilo turned himself in at the Hilo Police Station for a Warrant of Arrest.
Miller was charged with theft – 4th degree, obstructing government operations, 4 counts of tampering with physical evidence, theft – 2nd degree, promoting dangerous drug – 1st degree, and 2 counts of hindering prosecution – 2nd degree.
After being processed, police say Miller was released after posting $10,000 bail.
On Wednesday at 9:44 a.m., 67-year-old Chadwick Fukui of Hilo, a former police officer with the Hawai‘i Police Department, also turned himself in at the Hilo Police Station for a Warrant of Arrest.
Four others were also arrested in connection with the case.
At 5:45 p.m., 43-year-old Ivar Kaluhikaua of Hilo, turned himself in at the Hilo Police Station for a Warrant of Arrest.
Kaluhikaua is charged with two counts of hindering prosecution and two counts of tampering with physical evidence. He was released on $2,000 bail.

At 7:27 a.m. this morning, Thursday, (May 16), 62-year-old David Colon of Hilo, was arrested on:
Two counts of HINDERING PROSECUTION IN THE SECOND DEGREE.
Two counts of TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE.
He posted $2,000 bail and was given a court date of today at 1:30 p.m. at Hilo Circuit Court.
56-year-old Lance Yamada of Hilo was arrested at 12:22 p.m. and charged with:
HINDERING PROSECUTION in the SECOND DEGREE
Two counts of TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE.
Bail of $2,000 was posted, and his Court date is set for tomorrow, Friday, (May 17), at 1:30 p.m. in Hilo Circuit Court.
52-year-old Stacey Yamada of Hilo was also arrested and charged with:
HINDERING PROSECUTION in the SECOND DEGREE.
Two counts of TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE.
Bail of $2,000 was posted, and his Court date is set for tomorrow, Friday, (May 17), at 1:30 p.m. in Hilo Circuit Court.
All three turned themselves in at the Hilo Police Station.
