(BIVN) – The Windward Planning Commission meets in Hilo today and there are four items listed on the agenda. One of them, involving the Liliʻuokalani Trust plan to build a community center in Keaʻau, will be heard for the first time. The other three items are continued matters. Application for a Special Permit to establish a community center and related improvements and activities on a 6.717-acre parcel ofland within the State Land Use Agricultural District. The property is located along the west side of Kea’au-Pahoa Road, approximately 700 feet south east of its intersection with Kukula Street and adjacent to the south ofKea’au Elementary School, Kea’au, Puna, Hawai’i, TMK: (3) 1-6-003:103.
The controversial proposal for a permit to build a water bottling plant in Hilo is requesting a reconsideration of a previous decision that deferred a decision pending a State Commission on Water Resource Management rule making process.

Hearing on applicant’s request for reconsideration of the Windward Planning Commission’s decision, at its February 7, 2019 meeting, to defer action on applicant’s request for a Special Management Area Use Permit to develop a potable water well and bottling facility with related improvements on a 2.5712-acre parcel within the Special Management Area until the Commission on Water Resource Management updates its Water Resource Protection Plan. The property is located on the mauka (west) side of the Pahoa Bypass Road, approximately 1,800 feet southwest of its intersection with Post Office Road, Pahoa, Puna, Hawai’i, TMK: (3) 1-5-005:024.
