UPDATE (4:15 p.m.) – The Hawai‘i County Department of Parks and Recreation is now informing the public that Ho’okena Beach Park is open for park users.
“We thank the Parks and Recreation plumbers for their swift and professional work while conducting emergency repairs on the water line which was damaged during a vehicle accident,” an early evening county media release stated.
(BIVN) – Hoʻokena Beach Park will be closed until further notice, says Hawaiʻi County officials.
The Department of Parks and Recreation is informing the public that the South Kona beach park will undergo emergency water line repairs. The water line damage was caused by a vehicle accident.
Parks & Rec Department staff “are working to repair the water line, and the park will reopen once repairs are complete,” a County news release stated. “The Department apologizes for any inconvenience this park closure may cause, and thanks the public for their patience and understanding during this temporary closure.”
