(BIVN) – A popular shoreline gathering place along the Hāmākua Coast closes today, for the next two weeks.
The Hawai‘i County Department of Parks and Recreation says Laupāhoehoe Point Beach Park will be closed from January 22 to February 7, due to water line repairs.
As Parks and Recreation staff work to reroute the park’s water lines, the County says the presence of large machinery and open trenches will make the beach park hazardous to visitors.
“The Department apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause,” a County news release stated.
