UPDATE – Department of Water Supply reports that repairs are complete for the Water Line break in Waiakea and the system is refilling, county officials say.
“Customers may notice air in the system and milky appearance that will clear as the system returns to normal,” Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense reported. “The water is safe and crews will continue to monitor the system.”
(BIVN) – Waiākeawaena Elementary School is closed today due to a water main break.
A Hawaiʻi County Civil Defense message reported a water outage between Kawailani Street and Haihai Street.
Waiākeawaena School officials say the school and the surrounding area is without water. Teachers will remain on campus until all students are picked up, civil defense said.
The Department of Water Supply is responding to determine the cause.
