(BIVN) – A location for donation drop-offs, food, and information – all to help those impacted by the volcanic eruption in Leilani Estates – has been established at the corner of Highway 130 and 132, and it was done entirely by the Puna community.
We spoke to Ikaika Marzo, a well known Kalapana resident and lava tour guide who has been busy all week sharing up to minute information on the eruption, about the effort that he helped to organize. He has had a lot of help from friends and family, like fellow lava-guide John Tarson whom we also spoke to. The volunteers prepared a parking area on the lot, set up tents, and began cooking food and collecting items to kokua one another.
