(BIVN) – Hawaii’s first “Next Gen” Verizon store opened in Hilo on Friday, following a blessing ceremony at the location by the Prince Kuhio Plaza.
Store representatives say they are transforming the way customers shop for a phone. “You expect simple ways to discover new products that are handpicked with you in mind,” a media release stated. “You expect the freedom to shop on your terms – whenever, wherever you want. And when you’re ready to leave, you expect the checkout process to be quick and easy.”
Managers say the new store features four “regions”:
- The Discovery Region lets you discover and explore the latest and greatest products. Here you can check out the hottest and most talked about devices and accessories.
- The Collaborate Region is all about community. We’ve designed collaborative spaces where you can work together to learn about the latest technologies.
- The Guided Region is where you can get clear explanations of how products and systems work, and staff are available for in-depth guided demonstrations.
- The Basics Region is all about the essentials. It provides a quick grab-and-go area when you know what you want, in order to get in and out quickly.
“Think of it as the grab and go convenience of a newsstand and the sense of community from your local book store, along with the frictionless nature of ecommerce, all in one location,” said Irwin Siongco, Vice President of Sales and Operations, in a media release. “Every aspect of our Next Gen store in Hilo is focused with you in mind, and how Verizon can keep you beyond connected in your daily life. Our vision is about creating an immersive experience that addresses your needs and how Verizon can be there for you.”
Along with Petco and T.J.Maxx, the Verizon store is one of multiple new stores to open at Prince Kuhio Plaza in recent weeks.
