(BIVN) – A March For Our Lives event was held Saturday in Waimea, in support of similar student-led demonstrations held across the country on the same day.
Hundreds donned rain gear and opened an umbrella in preparation for a day of wet weather. The undaunted students and inspired adults were not deterred by the conditions.
Riley Herendeen, a senior at Parker School, was the primary organizer of the march, which was billed as a “student-led gun control protest”, following the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
Events were also scheduled for Hilo and Kona.
