(BIVN) – The culinary students at Hawaiʻi Community College were busy on Wednesday, preparing Thanksgiving meals to serve at the Manono campus cafeteria in Hilo.
The public was invited to enjoy the hard work that went in to preparing pumpkin pies, turkey, prime rib, ham, stuffing, and bread.
We interviewed student Ashlynn Lee about the experience.
According to the HCC website, the Culinary Arts program is “designed to provide for entry‑level employment in hotels, full‑service restaurants, fast food restaurants, institutions (schools, hospitals, corrections, etc.) and private clubs.” It has been accredited by the American Culinary Federation since July 2005.
