HILO, Hawaii – Day-long 4th of July festivities culminated on Monday evening with a fireworks show over Hilo Bay. The annual “Hilo Bay Blast” – which included a “Salute To Our Veterans” 5K run/walk, a “Hot Rides Expo”, food vendors and music – ended with a bang produced by Hawaii Explosives. As always, Coconut Island was the designated Kupuna Viewing Section.
The event is put together by the County of Hawaii in partnership with Destination Hilo, Hawaii Explosives, Hilo Jaycees, Downtown Improvement Association, and the State of Hawaii.
