HILO, Hawaii – The Hawaii County Council will vote on five names to lead the newly created Banyan Drive Hawaii Redevelopment Agency at its meeting in Hilo today.
The list of nominees, individuals who are well known in East Hawaii, was submitted by Mayor Billy Kenoi and need council approval before they begin the work of revitalizing the downtrodden Hilo resort area. The names are:
- Mary Begier (1 year term)
- Sigmund Zane (2 year term)
- Elmer Gorospe (3 year term)
- Barry Taniguchi (4 year term)
- Brian DeLima (5 year term)
