KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii – One of the oldest subdivisions in Kailua-Kona finally got a park to call its own.
On May 12th, the community gathered at the 1.6 acre Alii Kai Park to witness a blessing by Kumu Keala Ching, followed by the untying of the maile lei, and a rush of excited children towards the new playground equipment.
The new park also features accessible bathrooms, a parking lot, a pavilion, lighting, fencing, a security gate, landscaping, and an irrigation system.
