HILO, Hawaii – Motorists can expect delays on Railroad Avenue in Hilo starting next week.
The County of Hawai‘i Department of Public Works Traffic Division announced it be conducting roadway striping maintenance work on Railroad Avenue from Leilani Street to end of the roadway.
Work is scheduled between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. beginning on Monday, May 2nd through Friday, May 6th weather and construction conditions permitting. The county is advising motorists to expect delays and use alternate routes. Special off-duty police officers will be posted in the area to facilitate traffic movement, officials say.
“The County of Hawai‘i Department of Public Works apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks the community for their patience and understanding,” states a county media release. “If there are any questions or concerns, please call Barett Otani, Information and Education Specialist, at 961-8787.”
