PAHOA, Hawaii – Puna Senator Russell Ruderman and State Representative Joy SanBuenaventura went over their list of capitol improvement project requests during town hall meeting in Pahoa Monday night.
Ruderman is hoping to get funding for a Ho’oulu Lahui commercial kitchen at Kua O Ka La Charter School, additional Puna library funding, and money to develop an agricultural park in Puna – perhaps between Hawaiian Beaches and Maku’u in Hawaiian Paradise Park.
Rep. SanBuenaventura is looking to get money for covered walkways at Pahoa Elementary, a new ambulance for Puna, and funds for the Bay Clinic construction in Kea’au. The Puna rep is also looking to use last year’s $15 million allocation to explore an alternative bypass from Keaau, through HPP, to Pahoa.
