PAHOA, Hawaii – Civil defense officials gave an update on the continued closure of certain areas on Hawaii Island in Pahoa Monday night, as they plan to reopen Ho’okena Beach park today.
Ho’okena Beach Park, Miloli’i Beach Park, and Waipi’o Valley Access Road were all closed at different times due to hotspots of dengue fever nearby.
Hawaii County Civil Defense spokesperson Kanani Aton talked about the good news in giving Ho’okena the all clear, and also talked about the county’s approach towards the remaining closures.
