Highway 11 was closed Monday night due to a downed utility pole at the 105 mile post. Police issued an alert at 8:22 p.m.
“The Hawaii Police Department reports a road closure at the 105 mile post on Highway 11 due to a down utility pole in South Kona. This is a result of a traffic accident. Avoid this area if possible and take alternate routes such as Keala O Keawe, Painted Church and Middle Ke’ei Roads. Expect delays and use caution as crews will be in the area. Expected to be repaired tomorrow, unknown time.”Hawaii County Police Dept.
