HONOKAA, Hawaii – The weather forced a change of plans for the 9th Annual Parade & Festival for the United Nations International Day of Peace in Honoka’a on Saturday. Performers and participants moved the festivities inside Honokaa Hongwanji Hall to get out of the rain.
Event organizers shared the video with us. Footage shows performances by the Honokaa High School Jazz Band, the Taishoji Taiko Drum group from Hilo, and Magician Bruce Meyers.
The Peace Day Parade & Festival are presented by the Peace Committee of the Honokaʻa Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in cooperation with the United Nations and numerous community organizations.
