KAILUA VILLAGE – Multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner Ku’uipo Kumukahi will headline a free concert in Historic Kailua Village on Sunday, September 20. The event is part of the monthly Kokua Kailua Village.

Historic Kailua Village welcomes award-winning Hawaiian music entertainer Ku’uipo Kumukahi to the stage as part of Historic Kailua Village’s monthly Kokua Kailua Village this Sunday, September 20.
Kokua Kailua begins at 1 pm. Kumukahi will perform on the main stage at Emma’s Square on Alii Drive from 5 pm until 6 pm.
Kumukahi’s family’s deep rooted traditions, knowledge and values are ever present in her music. She is self taught and influenced by family songs, other Hawaiian singers and her parents.
Ku’uipo Kumukahi has garnered Na Hoku Hanohano’s most Promising New Artist Award as well as six other awards including Female Vocalist of the Year and Traditional Hawaiian Album of the Year. In addition, the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts nominated Kumukahi as its Female Vocalist of the Year in 1999 and she was awarded the Traditional Hawaiian Album of the Year by the Hawaii Music Awards in the same year.
Ku’uipo Kumukahi’s mission is to produce, preserve, perpetuate and promote quality in Hawaiian music.
