HONOKA’A, Hawaii – The Hamakua community gathered at the Honoka’a Gym on Tuesday evening (Aug. 25) to discuss possible solutions to the issues that surround the Waipi’o Valley Access Road. The County of Hawaii is offering to assist the Waipi’o Valley residents and stakeholders in a road improvement project, if the community supports the idea. We will be uploading video from this meeting here on this page in the coming hours. Footage will include statements from Mayor Billy Kenoi, Public Works Director Warren Lee, Councilwoman Valerie Poindexter, and concerned community members.
