MAUNA KEA – This is part two of a two part series examining the July 31st law enforcement action on Mauna Kea that resulted in seven arrests. Media was not present. The law enforcement action was filmed and distributed by the State of Hawaii’s Department of Land and Natural Resources, and was featured in our previous report. Now, we feature a different viewpoint. Footage taken by Lakea Trask shows the events from the perspective of the kia’i who have been blocking the Thirty Meter Telescope at the Hale Pohaku crosswalk for months. Trask, who avoided arrest but did receive citation, shares his video and his thoughts.
