KEALAKEHE, Hawaii – There could be some delays in service at the Kealakehe greenwaste recycling collection area, as repairs get underway.
The Hawaii County Department of Environmental Management says the site will remain open for drop-off of greenwaste as the contractor does the work. The repairs are scheduled to be completed by Friday, May 16, 2014.
An alternate location for depositing geenwaste is the county’s West Hawai‘i Organics Facility (WHOF), adjacent to the West Hawai‘i Sanitary Landfill in Pu‘uanahulu. Hours of operation for the organics facility are Monday throughSaturday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Free mulch with assisted mechanical loading is also available at this location.
Hours of operation for the Kealakehe Greenwaste Recycling are daily from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For additional information about the County’s greenwaste recycling programs, please visit hawaiizerowaste.org.
