HILO, Hawaii – A new business selling selling Big Island-grown products has opened its doors in Hilo.
The Big Island Trading Company is located at the site of the former Jackson Volvo dealership on Kamehameha Avenue, down by Ken’s House of Pancakes.
There’s a full retail gift shop and adjoining coffee shop. The store is the brainchildren of businessman Ed Olson, and the shelves are stocked with locally grown coffee and macademia nuts from Olson’s farms and companies in Ka’u, Hilo and Kawaihae.
We spoke to general manager Kimberly Ciez during Saturday’s public grand opening.
