HAWAII ISLAND – Representative Cindy Evans will hold three community meetings throughout the 7th House District in March. She plans to discuss highlights of the Legislative session at its midpoint. The public is encouraged to attend.
The dates are Friday, March 21, from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., at Waikoloa Elementary / Middle School cafeteria. The featured speaker will be Lt. Col. Eric Schwedo of the Pohakuloa Training Center. Jim Major will provide live music and dance after the discussion.
On Saturday, March 22, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., Evans will be at the Waimea Farmers Market at Parker School.
And on Sunday, March 30 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., she’ll be at the Hamakua Macadamia Factory in Kawaihae. Representatives from the state Department of Land and Natural Resources to discuss North and South Kawaihae Small Boat Harbors.
Kona representative Nicole Lowen also plans to hold her own meeting on Thursday, March 20th at the West Hawaii Civic Center.
Among the topics that will be discussed will be water issues relating to the National Park Service request to designate parts of the Hualalai aquifer, a water management area under the State Water Commission. Discussion will focus on what this might mean for the community, the environment, and development in the area.
