Three quick Ka‘ū CDP updates:

1) September 9 Feedback Deadline: Next Monday, September 9, is the deadline for providing feedback on the initial draft of Appendix V4B: “Community Building Analysis” and Appendix V4D: “Preferred Future Growth Patterns.” The documents and feedback forms are available at the project web site (www.kaucdp.info); at the libraries and community centers in Pāhala, Nāʻālehu, Discovery Harbour, and Ocean View; and at the Hilo and Kona Planning Department offices.

Of particular interest is Appendix V4B “Community Building Analysis,” which focuses on land use, infrastructure, services, design, and redevelopment strategies for Pāhala, Punaluʻu, Nāʻālehu, Wai‘ōhinu, the Discovery Harbour area, and Ocean View. Please note that Appendix V4B does not include the policies and plans of action that will make-up the heart of the CDP. Note also that Appendix V4B is not designed to be read from start to finish. Consider reading through the introductory section and then using the tables of contents, figures, and tables to find material of greatest interest.

2) August 13 Steering Committee Meeting Minutes: The draft minutes and the presentation slides for the August 13 Steering Committee meeting held in Ocean View are available in the “Steering Committee” section of www.kaucdp.info.

3) December 10 Steering Committee Meeting: The next Steering Committee meeting is scheduled for December 10, starting at 5:30pm at the Nāʻālehu Community Center.
