HONOLULU, Hawaii – The State of Hawaii has launched a new mobile application to help drivers find electric vehicle charging stations that are open to the public around the islands.
The free “EV Stations Hawaii” app is available for Apple and Android smartphones and mobile devices.
The app provides mapping directions for all four counties. Users search for EV stations across Hawaii or for those closest to their current location.
State officials say the adoption of electric vehicles is a key component in the state’s aggressive pursuit of 70 percent clean energy by the year 2030.
The EV Stations Hawaii app is a partnership between DBEDT, Hawaii Information Consortium and Honolulu Clean Cities. It is part of the state Office of Information Management and Technology’s open data movement.
The EV charging station locations can also be found online at www.electricvehicle.hawaii.gov.
