HAWAIIAN ACRES, Hawaii – Firefighters knocked down a fire that had engulfed a multi-story home in Hawaiian Acres.
The Hawaii County Fire Department responded to an alarm at 10:47 a.m. for a fire in a wooded area on Road 6 between Roads C and D in the Puna makai subdivision, according to a fire dispatch.
The responding units used tank water to extinguish the fire in the single family dwelling. There was an estimated $60,000 property loss.
The fire department says it is unknown if the home was occupied, or who the owner is. The cause of the fire under investigation.
