HAWAIIAN OCEAN VIEW ESTATES, Hawaii: The Hawaiian Ocean View Estates deepwell water system broke down on Monday, forcing the standpipe facility to close, and diverting water hauling to alternate facilities in Na’alehu and Ho’okena.
In a message sent out Monday afternoon, the Department of Water Supply said the drinking water spigot station remains open.
Electrical tests yielded inconclusive results.
Water Supply says troubleshooting will continue to further analyze the problem, determine the needed repairs, and develop an estimated repair timeline. In addition, DWS staff continues to monitor consumption and tank levels.
