KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii: Pier 1 Imports opened its newest store in Kailua-Kona this weekend.
The 8,448 square feet store got a traditional Hawaiian blessing on Friday morning, conducted by Kahu Kealoha Kaopua Coleman of the Calvary Community Church in Kona. Then, the store opened its doors at 10 a.m., welcoming throngs of consumers.
This is the fifth Pier 1 Imports location in Hawaii, and features a new look, complemented by the use of “open stock” merchandising, designed to enhance the shopping environment by giving customers the opportunity to see, feel and interact with the product.
The company says: on average, the store will employ approximately 40 part-time associates to support the new store opening.
The new store is located at 74-5586 Palani Road at the Kona Coast Shopping Center.
