KAWAIHAE, Hawaii: More than $50,000 of iron material has been stolen from the Kawaihae Industrial Area. Hawaii County Police gave the details.
Big Island police are investigating the theft of siding/roofing material in South Kohala.
Some time after Monday (June 11) approximately 400 sheets of iron siding/roofing were removed from the Kawaihae Industrial Area. The value of the material is estimated at more than $50,000. It is described as 24-gauge iron siding/roofing, 24-feet by 4-feet. Some sheets are blue and others are white.
Police ask that anyone who see suspicious or unusual activity in any industrial area call 911 immediately.
Anyone wishing to share information that does not require immediate attention may call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
