HILO, Hawaii: Big Island police have made an arrest following a reported hold-up at a service station on Kekuanaoa Street in Hilo on Friday.
24-year-old Chase K. Tam was arrested at his Hilo residence for Robbery, Terroristic Threatening (2 counts), Shoplifting, and Theft, police say.
From a police media release:
At about 12:30 a.m., South Hilo Patrol officers responded to a hold-up alarm at a service station on Kekuanaoa Street. A male suspect brandished a gun demanding money from the employee and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of currency. The employee did not sustain any injuries during the ordeal.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Section, Officers from South Hilo Patrol and Community Policing through their investigation identified a male suspect, 24-year-old Chase K. Tam of Hilo.
Tam is being held at the Hilo Police Station pending further investigation.
