HILO, Hawaii: The second Moku O Hawaii canoe paddling event of the season – the Ira Kekaualua Sr. regatta hosted by Tui Tonga – is in the books.
Picking up from last week (and last season) Kai Opua dominated the standings with 207 points to come in first in the A division… fellow West Hawaii canoe club Keauhou came in second with 170 points. Each club took 14 races. Keaukaha took third place with 144. After that it was Puna, Kawaihae, Kai-Ehitu, and Kamehameha Canoe Club
Hui Wa’a O Waiakea was tops in the B Division, followed by Paddlers of Laka, then Waikoloa, Na Waa Hanakahi, Keoua, and Kailana Canoe Clubs.
Next up, the Paddlers of Laka regatta on June 2nd.
