KOHALA COAST, Hawaii: The Mauna Lani Bay welcomes back Dr Sanjay Gupta & CNN Fit Nation Triathlon Team starting this weekend.

The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows, Hawaii Island’s premier eco‐friendly active lifestyle resort, is excited to welcome back CNN’s multiple Emmy®‐award winning chief medical correspondent, Dr Sanjay Gupta, and members of his 2012 “Fit Nation” triathlon team from Sunday, May 13, 2012 for their second annual Hawaii training camp.

Dr Gupta and the “Lucky Seven”, a group of CNN viewers who were selected to join the Fit Nation team with the goal of racing in the Nautica Malibu Triathlon in September, will gather at Mauna Lani Bay to swim, bike and run, and while in Hawaii , also experience the famous Hawaii Ironman World Championship course.

Dr Gupta’s passion for inspiring Americans to lead healthier, more active lifestyles led him to launch Fit Nation in 2009, CNN’s multi‐platform anti‐obesity initiative. The program follows the progress of Dr Gupta and the team as they inspire each other while training for a triathlon.

The 2012 team includes everyday Americans experiencing different life situations, such as a diabetes sufferer, an amputee and a busy working mom. They will be led and inspired by pro swimmer, triathlete and coach, April Gellatly‐Burkey, who has successfully competed at all triathlete distances from sprint to iron‐distance.

The Hawaii training camp will consist of group swims in Mauna Lani Bay , bike workouts on the Queen K and running drills around the Mauna Lani Resort property. Dr Gupta and the Lucky Seven have also factored in leisure time to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of Hawaii Island .
