According to the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, a minor earthquake occurred at 1:03 p.m. today (Saturday, December 10, 2011) on Hawaii Island.
The magnitude 3.7 event occurred 4 miles south southeast of the Kilauea volcano summit, 5 miles south southwest of Volcano Village.
The hypocentral depth was 16 miles.
