KOHALA COAST, Hawaii: More road work on the Big Island in our daily Kohala update.
We have a few projects to tell you about in the region taking place this week.
The state DOT says near Makalei, there will be alternating lane closures on Mamalahoa Highway – or Route 190 – in both directions between Mileposts 27 and 31 north of Old Kona Village Road on Monday, October 24, through Friday, October 28, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., everyday, for guardrail installations and paving.
The same goes for Waikoloa, where the state says guardrail installations will create the same alternating lane closures during the same times and dates.
Finally, at Kiholo Bay…
There will be alternating single lane shifts on Queen Kaahumanu Highway in both directions in the vicinity of Milepost 82 on Monday, October 24, through Friday, October 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for pavement resurfacing.
There will also be some military convoys to keep an eye out for on Tuesday… we will cover that in our Mauna Kea newscast.
