KAHUA RANCH, Hawaii: This weekend, residents get the chance to visit a pumpkin patch high on Kohala Mountain.
The Kohala Mountain Farm Pumpkin Patch will be open for one weekend only this year.
Coordinator Stacy Hasegawa says it has been a lot of hard work… But this weekend’s event is about more than just picking the best pumpkin.
The patch will be hosting Kokua Stone Mana Ohana Fundraiser, with efforts to raise brain awareness in children.
Hasegawa says it has also been the generosity of Kahua Ranch that has made the effort possible.
Pumpkin picking takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday … as long as the large gourds aren’t sold out on day one.
