WAIKOLOA, Hawaii: On the Kohala Coast, the 6th Annual Moku O Keawe International Hula Festival comes to life at Waikoloa Beach Resort in just a few weeks.
One of Hawaii’s biggest hula events, Moku O Keawe will be held on November 3 – 5th, with an international hula competition, a Made-in-Hawai‘i Marketplace and more.
This week, organizers released a schedule of events for the event.
The international hula competition will be held from Thursday through Saturday, at the Waikoloa Bowl at Queens’Gardens.
Moku O Keawe brings together hālau from Hawaii, Japan, and the U.S. Mainland with top caliber hula competition in the areas of Hula Kahiko and Hula ‘Auana.
The Hawai‘i Marketplace will be set up on Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa.
And don’t forget the cultural workshops from November 3rd through 5th. Competition judges – like Nalani Kanaka’ole, and other masters of hula – will share their knowledge.
