HAWAIIAN OCEAN VIEW ESTATES, Hawaii: The quest to bring potable water to the remote and sprawling Hawaiian Ocean View Estates subdivision has been long and arduous. But relief is right around the corner.
The Ka’u Calendar reports that the Hawaiian Electric Light Company turned on the power for the new Ocean View water distribution system last week.
Sen. Gil Kahele told the residents of Ocean View during last week’s talk story that it will take several months for the well water to be certified as potable and the new spigots to be turned on for residents and businesses.
