A provision that would allow police to impound cars because of fraudulent plates drew the ire of these testifiers… many of whom have Hawaiian Kingdom license plates on their cars and ID cards in tehir wallet.
The opposition caught Ford by surprise, who said she had never even heard of the Hawaiian Kingdom license plates. The councilmembers discussed the issue with their lawyer, Corporation Counsel Lincoln Ashida.
