Featured this year will be range fed beef prepared by Beth An Nishijima of Nori’s Saimin. Beth is one of Hilo’s own, and has been a featured chef on many cooking shows across the state. We are certainly very happy to have her help us prepare this treat! The range fed beef is coming from Hawaii Beef Producers located in Paauilo. As before, we’ll have about 35 to 40 local restaurants, bakeries, and beverage suppliers at this year’s Taste of Hilo.
In addition to great food, the Taste of Hilo also features a silent auction. Art work, golf and hotel room packages, and products from Hawaii Community College’s woodshop are just some of the items to bid on.
Proceeds from the Taste of Hilo benefit the Hawaii Community College and the chamber.
Tickets are available ($40 presale and $60 at the door) at the Japanese Chamber office at 714 Kanoelehua Avenue. The office can be reached at 934-0177 or by email at jccih@jccih.org.
