Reed’s Island Bridge will remain closed Monday-Friday between 8:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. until May 13. The geotechnical engineering contractor requires additional time to complete the core sampling, drilling and investigation.
As previously reported, the soil and foundation investigation precedes the seismic retrofit repair work to follow as part of the Reeds Island Bridge Rehabilitation project.
Motorists are requested to travel on Hale/Kahema Streets, a half-mile mauka of Ka’iulani and Waiānuenue Avenue intersection. This detour is open only 8:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. The Department of Public Works appreciates the understanding and cooperation of the Reed’s Island Bridge residents and visitors.
