Hundreds of keiki rushed the field of Wong Stadium on the morning of Good Friday, part of the 18th annual “Biggest Easter Egg Hunt” in Hilo.
Bob Fitzgerald, the ditrector of the Hawaii County Parks and Recreation Department, blew the air horn to start the scramble.
Organizers say over 30,000 plastic eggs were deployed in the hunt.
The event was put together by the county, the Hilo Jaycees, the Hilo and Waiakea High School Key Clubs, Andrews Athletic Association, Boy Scout Troop 78, Hilo & Waiakea Intermediate Builders, Hopaco, Hawaii Police and Fire Departments & the Men of Pa’a
