An amended version of the $56 million bond bill will still include $2 million is still allocated for repairs and upgrades to public park facilities in the Kapaau area.
The county specifically mentions the pavilion at Keokea Beach Park, and the existing condemned grandstand structure at Kamehameha Park. Both facilities were damaged in the October 6, 2006 Kiholo earthquake, and have been closed ever since.
Kohala Councilman Pete Hoffmann has supported the bill, even before the most recent amendments were brought forward.
