Hawaii County has submitted estimates of damage to public infrastructure in Kona to state Civil Defense on Wednesday, which is a necessary step in the process of seeking federal disaster assistance. The estimate of the dollar value of the damage to Alii Drive was $300,000 to $500,000, and the county also detailed damage to parks, a waterline, and a sewage pump station.
