HILO – The comfort station and pavilion at Napo‘op‘oo in the Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park will reopen on tomorrow, March 3, 2011. The facility has been closed since January for renovation and repainting improvements which include new toilet fixtures, new security gates, painting of exterior and interior areas, minor structural repairs, BBQ grill repairs, and other related improvements. Project funding was provided by the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority.
“We appreciate the patience and understanding by the community and visitors to the park during the renovation project,” said Dan Quinn, State Parks Administrator. “We would like to express our continued appreciation to the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority for their support of improvements to the resources and facilities of the State Parks system,” he added.
Project contractor was Ivan Mochida Contracting, Inc., and project cost was $42,000.
