This Hawaii County Civil Defense message is no longer in effect

The Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency has issued the following alert for residents of the Big Island of Hawaii.

This is a weather update for Thursday January 13. A flash flood watch remains in effect for Hawai’i County today through this evening. There is still a potential for heavy rain during this period. As always, residents in flood prone areas should remain prepared and be on the lookout for flood conditions. Motorists should drive carefully due to the possibility of hazardous road conditions and understand that road closures can occur without warning. Again, the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Hawai’i Island effective today Thursday January 13 through this evening. Thank you and have a safe day.
