November 12, 2010 – KONA, Hawaii
Video by David Corrigan | Voice of Stephanie Salazar
The American Legion Kona Post 20 held its annual Veterans Day program at the sunny West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery.
Veterans organizations, Boys and Girls Scouts, Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps and Civil Air Patrol participated in the event. The featured speaker was Gordon Rogers, deputy commander of Pohakuloa Training Area.
All through the ceremony, a lone, anonymous figure stood as a silent sentinel on a hill overlooking the cemetery… honoring the sacrifice of the unknown soldier of the United States of America.
The program was followed by a potluck lunch.
