The same anti-military group crashed a public Scoping Meeting at Hilo High School on Thursday, August 26th.
The U.S. Navy held the meeting to collect input on a Draft Environmental Impact Statement for military training and testing in the waters off Hawaii and Southern California.
Although the public comments were not a part of the scheduled meeting, organizers allowed the demonstration to go forward.
Before the impromptu hearing was held, military officials and contractors discussed the draft EIS with Hawaii247.com
The Draft EIS is scheduled to be released in the Spring of 2012. The public comment period for the document will close on Tuesday, Sept 14th.
