Kona, Hawaii – Video by David Corrigan, voice of Tim Bryan
Aired on Na Leo TV – March 31, 2010
Hundreds stopped by the NELHA Gateway Center to partake in the first ever Big Island Grown Fish Farmers’ Market on Friday.
The event was billed as the World’s First Eco-Friendly Fish Farmers Market.
Hungry shoppers could pick up Kona Kampachi, Keahole Lobster, Dungeness Crab, and Big Island Abalone… all grown in Kona waters.
Live music and cooking demonstrations were also “on the menu”. Olelo pa`a Faith Ogawa showed her way to sear and serve sturgeon.
The market was sponsored by the Hawaii county Department of Research and Development, and there are plans to hold more such events at the same location in the spring and summer.
